Waterports Centre Liverpool

BDA National League Race
Sunday the 5th of May 2013

Thank you for entering Liverpool's BDA National League Race. Amathus will be hosting this event and we hope that you will all have a good day of racing. Should you wish any help or advice during the day please feel free to ask any Amathus Club member.

We will be using the Queen’s Dock Watersports centre, which provides a reasonable number of toilets and shower facilities.

Light refreshments and hot drinks will be available from the centre but the are a large number of shops and restaurants in the Albert Dock shopping area which is only a short distance from the race course.

To add an extra element of variety, we will be running a series of 250m races to start the day. These will follow a slightly different plan to the standard system in that there will only be two rounds of races.

The main 500m races will follow the 200’s running over a different course. Be aware that this is a deep saltwater docklands course and that the water is of good quality

The actual course details will be displayed at race control and we advise that your helms are made aware of the course plan.

There will be tethered starts on the 500m course, from fixed buoys at the beginning of each lane if the conditions require it. The races will be three boat races to an indicated finish point on the dock walls. All races will be covered by a video camera.

Buoyancy aids will be available for any participants that require them, these will need to be requested from the boat marshals.

Details of how to get to the watersports centre are enclosed but please report to race control if you are bringing a boat so that you can be directed personally to the boat loading area as this is on a different car park from the centre.
